Photography

If you are doing any kind of photography in school, below you will find some tips for producing powerful photos.

Composition - how you choose to frame your picture will tell a story.

Poor composition makes for unsatisfactory viewing and makes the viewer feel that something is wrong in the picture.

Strong composition has exactly the opposite effect - the viewer instantly understands the story being told, and feels like the photographer has "nailed it".

Here are some links to help you with photograph composition:

Rule of Thirds - one of the most important concepts in creating powerful photography

Use of Shadows

Horizon - where you place the horizon in your photo changes the effect of your photo dramatically

Rack Focus - deciding whether to have the object(s) in the foreground or background as your focus
